Patina Miller

Patina Patina PatinaMiller was the lead actor in Stephen Schwartz's famous 1972 musical "Pippin" which ran on Broadway. Produced by Tony Award-winning Director Diane Paulus, and also featuring Matthew James Thomas, Andrea Martin and Terrence Mann, "Pippin" received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical at the 67th Annual Tony Awards. Patina successfully put a contemporary version of a role that was created by the award-winning actor Ben Vereen. She mastered the Fosse movement that the show is based on so much. Patina's performance earned her an Tony Award in the category of Best Actress, Lead Role Musical. The Outer Critics Circle Award was also presented to her for Outstanding Actress. From December 2012 until Jan. 2013, she performed as the role of the Lead Player in the American Repertory Theater's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
